Walking along the road of Bukit Batok Crescent, all I spotted was tall and big office buildings. I never expect to find a cafe and brewery hidden in one of them.
Porcupine Skewers is located at the second level of The Splendour.
Bangkok Jam hosted a Thai Street Food Carnival, Thai’Rrific Food Fest, at their Marina Square outlet on 22 October 2015. It aims to celebrate the diversity of Thai street food you can find in the streets and markets of Bangkok.
I had been missing the street food in Bangkok as it had been almost 2 years since I last visited Bangkok. Thanks to Thai’Rrific Food Fest, I managed to satisfy my craving for Thai Street Food and a fun-filled and tummy-filled evening with my bestie, Jia Hui.
Time for Shake Shack!! I have been looking forward to them in The Alshaya Food Tour.
Shake Shack had always been listed in the Top must eat fast-food in New York. This reputable fast food chain was also known as the NY Icon.
Every successful restaurant chain started somewhere small. Shake Shack sprouted from a hot dog cart in Madison Square Park in Manhattan to support the Madison Square Park Conservancy’s first art installation. In 2004, the bid was won to open a permanent kiosk in the Park: Shake Shack was born.
This modern day “roadside” burger stand serves up delicious burgers, hot dogs, frozen custard, shakes, beer, wine and more.
We visited the outlet at Dubai Mall. Other than Dubai Mall, they have outlets at Jumeriah Beach, Mall of Emirates, Financial Bay as well as Dubai Airport Terminal 3.
We will be heading to Dubai Mall for our second tasting session at P.F.Chang’s. P.F.Chang’s is an Asian-themed US casual dining restaurant serving American Chinese food.
Even though there a Chinese word in the American Chinese food and the dishes look like Chinese food, the foods served in P.F. Chang’s were not like our normal Chinese Chinese food we had back home. Sound Complicated right?
Just remember that it is American-Chinese food!
According to the organizer, P.F.Chang’s is one of the popular dining venue in Dubai. At around 6pm, the restaurant was almost 60% – 70% filled with customers. There were queue lining up waiting to dine in the restaurant. We were greeted by a group of their service staffs eagerly waiting to usher us to our tables.
Day 2 official marked the start of the whole Alshaya Food Tour which we will be taste testing 4 different American-based restaurants. Starting with IHOP, PF Chang, Shake Shack and lastly, Texas Road House. This was also marked the start of my work as we are required to hand in our food review about the restaurants on the same night. Our reviews will act as one of their consideration in bringing the 4 restaurants into Asia.
After a great night sleep in the Sheraton Sweet SleeperTM Bed, I am all fresh and ready for the challenge.

“You have been selected for The Alshaya Food Tour in Dubai !” When I saw the email, I could not believe my eyes. I had been blogging for the past 2 years and this was the biggest recognition I have ever gotten. After knowing who were the other 4 food bloggers, I was kind of stress on my contribution for The Alshaya Food Tour. I was the most novice in the whole group. Nevertheless, I am up for the challenge.
Dubai Here I come!!!
My first in-flight lunch on Emirates Boeing 777.
It had been a long long time since I met up with my girl friends. As we grew older, the responsibility and commitment started to increase too, make it harder for us to meet up. Even so, the strong friendship bond still stay with us.
Thanks Melody for arranging the brunch meet up at The Hangar.
The Hangar is a Aussie styled cafe with an industry concept interior design that specialize in coffees, sandwiches and salads. Situated at the far end of Arab Street making it a perfect hang out venue away from all the crowd. A nice cozy cafe to catch up with your friends while enjoying the good coffees and food that are served in The Hangar.
Travelling to Japan had always been on my travel bucket list. Other than experiencing the rich Japan culture and visiting the land of Hello Kitty, I have always wanted to visit Japan for their abundance of gastronomical delights with a boundless variety of regional and seasonal food.
For the month of September, The Soup Spoon launched their Souper Inspiration Japan. Souperchef Anna had come out with 3 different Japan themed soups, “Japanese Style Vegan Sweet Potato Curry”, “Nikujaga Wasabi Beef Stew” and “Salmon Head Touyu Nabe” using the different types of stable or comfort Japan food.
