The Alshaya Food Tour Dubai – Day 1

“You have been selected for The Alshaya Food Tour in Dubai !” When I saw the email, I could not believe my eyes. I had been blogging for the past 2 years and this was the biggest recognition I have ever gotten. After knowing who were the other 4 food bloggers, I was kind of stress on my contribution for The Alshaya Food Tour. I was the most novice in the whole group. Nevertheless, I am up for the challenge.

Dubai Here I come!!!

My first in-flight lunch on Emirates Boeing 777.

Fillet of Perch served with mushroom sauce, steamed potatoes a sauteed vegetables.

After the 7 hours 45 minutes of flight, I finally touched down in Dubai, a country I never thought I will be travelling to.

We checked in to Sheraton Mall of Emirates Dubai Hotel. The Sheraton Hotel is located just right above Mall of Emirates where most of our food tasting took place at.

Here my tour of my Deluxe Skyline View Room.

The dark chestnut furnitures with the warm lighting created a relaxing atmosphere, every room features the world-famous Sheraton Sweet SleeperTM Bed.

An interesting fact about the water in the hotel; Due to the high temperature of Dubai, water are being refrigerated in order to have cold water for your bath. You may get icy cold water during your bath.

City View

Roof Top Swimming Pool

The Swimming Pool’s water is also refrigerated. I regretted not bringing my swim wear for the trip as it was a rare experience swimming in cold water under the high temperature.

If you are not swimming like me, you can try chilling at the pavilion if you can stand the heat. You get amazing view overlooking the Burj Al Arab.

My tummy was growling and I can’t wait for dinner at The Cheesecake Factory and meeting The Alshaya team.

The Cheesecake Factory was one of the many restaurants that M.H. Alshaya Co. had franchised into Dubai. The first Cheesecake Factory restaurant was open in Beverly Hills, CA in 1978. They have over 20 varieties of cheesecakes and other desserts. Other than desserts, they served main courses too.

The Cheesecake Factory in Mall of Emirates had various different size of private room for huge group dining. We were blessed as we were given the private room with the view of the famous indoor ski resort in Dubai.

Fried Macoroni and Cheese

I love Mac & Cheese but this was the first time I ate Fried Macroni and Cheese. Crispy on the outside and creamy in the inside. The Marinara Sauce lifted the whole flavor up.

Fried Calamari

This is one of the best dishes of the night even though it was just an appetizer. The lightly battered calamari was so tender and chewy.

The Avocado Dip was totally amazing. The Dip was creamy and flavorful, the little chunks of avocados for the extra texture. I cannot stop scooping the Avocado Dip with the Tortilla Chips. Craving for it now.

Chicken Madeira

The Chicken Madeira was listed as the most popular chicken dish on the menu therefore; I decided to give it a try. However, it was kind of disappointing as the whole dish was overly sweet. I could not really tasted any other flavor.

Finally, It’s time for Cheesecakes!! We were totally spoils of choices; we ended up having 5 different cheesecakes to share over the table.

Fresh Strawberry Cheesecake

Mango Key Lime Cheesecake

Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Cheesecake

SNICKERS® Bar Chunks and Cheesecake

Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake

Out of all the cheesecakes, I love the Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake the most. The combination of Flourless Godiva Chocolate Cake, Godiva Chocolate Cheesecake and Chocolate Mouse made every mouthful so chocolaty and rich. A total chocolate indulge.

Let’s end the night with a table wefie. Pardon my tired and cui look.
